Community Director for Santiago

Natalia Cabrera is a Chilean media artist and DIY tech enthusiast based in Brooklyn. Natalia focuses on interactive non-fiction storytelling to approach social and environmental issues. Her work expands from linear film to multi-channel video, interactive installations and virtual reality experiences.

She is a graduate from Interactive Telecommunications Program (ITP) at NYU, a scholar from CONICYT and participated in the Virtual Reality Lab at the Samsung Global Innovation Center. She has also worked as a creative technology fellow at HUM∆N agency researching the implementation of interactivity in 360 documentary video, and as VR Tech Supervisor at Future of Storytelling 2016 in New York City.

As a filmmaker & designer, René produced the acclaimed comedy show Backpack Picnic, directed the feature documentary The King of Texas, sold a TV pilot to MTV, designed 5 products & founded 2 companies.
