COMMUNITY DIRECTOR BIO
Since 2007 I have been working in emerging and interactive media. Professionally I have designed games and apps for professional sporting teams, working in VR and AR technology, experimented with transmedia and online video, and produced a variety of traditional media as a director, producer, writer, and/or editor.

I have a Masters in Screen Arts (Directing) from the Australian Film Television and Radio School. I lecture in film and technology at SAE QANTUM, The Academy of Music and Performing Arts, and teach primary school ethics as a volunteer

PREVIOUS PROJECTS
Previous projects include anti-bullying game/app “Cronulla Sharks: My Hero”, online tactical game “Scavengers”, Alternate Reality Game “Demonicon” (which had players in Australia and the USA and was documented in the following Herald Sun article (linked here)), award winning short films and music videos, and transmedia development for the CSIRO, Allianz, Lynx Deodorant, Home and Away, and The X Factor, amongst others.

As a filmmaker & designer, René produced the acclaimed comedy show Backpack Picnic, directed the feature documentary The King of Texas, sold a TV pilot to MTV, designed 5 products & founded 2 companies.
